quick query
Sangeeta Bhargava was born in a remote village in Maharashtra in India and spent much of her childhood in the hill stations of Kumaon (now part of Uttarakhand). She graduated from Lucknow, which has been vibrantly brought to life in her debut novel, The World Beyond. It is soon going to be translated into Polish. Although she wanted to be a writer even as a child, writing was not a career option back then, so she went on to do an MBA in finance. A few years back she realised that the business world was not for her and decided to go back to her first love - writing. She wrote some short stories, including the prize-winning story See You Online, as well as articles, before publishing her first book, Letters to my Baby. This book is a guide to pregnancy and babycare and has been serialised in a Canadian biweekly. After the Storm is her third book. She now lives in London with her husband, two children, 10,000 books and a temperamental laptop.
